1853 C-1 NGC MS65RB EAC MS64 CAC Green NGC# 6838296-001 NGC Population 10-5 as MS65RB. NGC has graded five examples finer: (3) MS66RB, one MS66+RB and one MS67RB. PCGS has graded no 1853 half cents higher than MS65RB. Full red 1853 half cents are not known. This coin is sharply struck on both sides. The obverse has bright red around all the elements, LIBERTY and in the hair. Bright red is much more prominent on the reverse with 40-50% of the fields displaying satiny color.
