“PCGS/CAC AU55 1855 $10
The 1855 is not the common date many collectors assume it is. It is not often seen in grades higher than AU58 and even less so with original color.
This pleasing example has attractive deep natural color on both sides.
No CAC approved PCGS AU55 has ever sold at auction. A PCGS/CAC AU58 brought $1,860 in 1/2019 while the last PCGS AU55 without CAC approval realized $1,375 in October 2020.

This date is scarce in all grades and VF and EF examples are most often available. However, AU specimens and an occasional uncirculated one appear on the market fom time to time and a small number of choice and gem uncirculated specimens exist. The 1855 had more appearances in my auction survey than any other No Motto Eagle but I have seen more mint state examples of 1847 and 1847-O than I have of this date and consider them to be more common than 1855.
