POP 1... Been searching for a POOR 1869 for years. For some reason this date is very tough to find in a readable date poor grade. This coin was sent in to grade in the last part of 2024 as an 1869 and graded a POOR ONE but the graders decided for some reason it was not an 1869 and graded it an 1866! PCGS was nice enough to take a second look at the coin for a no charge regrade and this time they decided it was in fact an 1869.... Very tough date in the Two Cent Series...

The 1869 Two Cent piece is similar in rarity to the 1868 but is worth slightly more because of its lower mintage. This date boasts a minor (but valuable) Doubled Die Obverse variety and a couple of Repunched Date varieties (one of which also features a mis-placed date).
