The 1872-CC Quarter Dollar is a rare, low mintage date that is extremely popular, hard-to-find, and always expensive. Virtually all of the known examples are in circulated condition and only two Mint State examples have survived. This date comes well-struck and well-made, but it circulated heavily, so finding an example with good detailing is difficult. Try to avoid cleaned or damaged pieces, but even that is problematic because of the incredible demand for this date. This is one date where one takes what one can get.
