The 1878-CC is the third rarest CC-Mint Eagle and is, in fact, one of the rarest dates in the entire $10 series in terms of both overall rarity and condition rarity. (It is ranked just below the top 10% in rarity according to average grade and rarity according to frequency of appearance.) The 1878-CC is extremely rare in full EF. Above that grade, it is prohibitively rare and no specimen that I have seen or heard of even approaches full mint state.
