I have never, in all of my years of collecting, seen such evident copper toning on a 1881-S as there is present on this one. The obverse has a gorgeous film of copper layering on that covers the coin from rim to rim. While most of the coins from this date have a blinding white surface, this coin has a unique and desirable patina that is not spared just for the obverse on the coin but is also present on the reverse. They say a picture is worth a thousand words but if you can believe it, this coin looks even BETTER in person. The lustrous silky toning jumps right off of the coin and truly makes this a one of a kind piece. Overall, a spectacularly refreshing take on the traditional blast-white of the 1881-S Morgan Silver Dollar.
