Owner's Comments

A reflective cameo obverse featuring soft medium pink rose toning accompanied with blues and greens throughout the surface. The reverse is equally as interesting as it showcases wonderfully exaggerated die polish when turned into the light. Rare to find Victorian cents with this proof-like obv quality from mint state strikes. Obverse 4 Possibly from 58th Catalogue of Canadian Decimal Coins, New Netherlands Sale, Sept 22, 1964(Lot 180); almost certainly from United States and Foreign Coins including the Arnold Perl Collection of Colonial and Continental Currency Sale, Lester Merkin, Nov 6, 1965(Lot 832); from the Canadian Coinoisseur Torex Auction, Featuring Part III of the Mason Collection, Febuary 2003(Lot 376).
