1895 5C MS65 Certification #80877976, PCGS #3856
Owner's Comments
PQ and CAC approved for quality and eye appeal. Auction description (July-2020): A desired GEM, especially with the declining availability of pieces in higher Mint State grades. Exquisitely sharp devices are enhanced by thick frost, as are the fields. Champagne gold and soft peach highlights add to the originality and eye appeal.

Based on mintage figures alone, the 1895 Liberty Head Nickel should be twice as common as the 1894. However, in terms of certified examples, the 1895 is the scarcer of the two by a small margin. Because prices have not yet reflected this relationship, the 1895 appears to be a very good value.
The 1895 Nickel is reaily available in MS64 and MS65, then becomes scarce in MS66, where just over a dozen have been certified by PCGS. None have been certified finer by PCGS. This date comes well struck and only occasionally shows weakness on the first two stars.
