1895-S $20 MS62 Certification #02425448, PCGS #9028
Expert Comments
David Akers (1975/88)
The 1895-S is essentially equal in rarity to the 1889-S, 1894-S, 1896-S, 1903-S and 1906-S. It is a relatively common date overall and can be obtained quite easily in the high circulated grades as well as average uncirculated condition. Choice mint state specimens are moderately scarce and, of course, gems are very scarce. A number of gems do exist, however, as well as several superb, nearly flawless examples.
