1897-S $5 MS63 Certification #35420921, PCGS #8395
Expert Comments

The 1897-S is another uderrated Half Eagle from the San Francisco Mint, just like the three dates immediately peceding it, the 1894-S, 1895-S and 1896-S. It is not quite as rare overall as the other three but it is just about as rare in full mint state. Choice or gem quality coins are very rare.
