SUPER HIGH END! We can not imagine any better PR 64. We also do nto see why this coin is not a + (NO promises). Sheer ice like mirrors are more then stand the scrutiny of a strong glass. We did not even see any light lines. The mirrors are deep and have great clarity. When you twirl the coin, the mirrors look like a freshly formed sheet of ice. A killer color scheme of totally original navy/purple/gold forms sort of a large crescent of both sides. The contrast is easy to see. Miss Liberty and the details are frosted and are fully struck. The eye appeal is great! Only 846 were minted. PCGS 18, NGC 9, CAC 5.

1899 is a perfect choice for an affordable, available, quality example of a Proof Barber Half Dollar.  It can be found in a wide range of grades from PR60 to PR69 (the only date in the series that can make that claim as far as PCGS is concerned).  These come well struck in a variety of formats: Brilliant; Cameo; and Deep Cameo.  All the examples we've seen are fully struck and very well-made.
