1899 50C MS64 Certification #36019011, PCGS #6483

Owner's Comments

A near perfect match, in terms of color and toning, to my 1900 Barber Dime. Almost as if they were once in the same album or coin cabinet.

The 1899 Half Dollar is a common date that can be found with ease in most grades, including Mint State.  For some reason, the quality of Mint State 1899 Half Dollars is sub-par and tends to fall into the lower ranges of MS62 to MS63.  Even so, MS64 and MS65 examples are well-represented in the market, but finding MS66 and better examples is a real challenge.  The finest 1899 Half Dollar is a single PCGS MS67+.
