1901-S $5 MS61 PCGS #8404

This auction began @ 10:42:32 am PDT on the 6th of October 2022 with an opening price of $0.01. This auction had 9 bidders make 12 bids. My bid with a max price of $595.51 @ 9:08:51 am PDT on the 10th of October. This auction ended @ 10:42 am PDT on the 16th of October 2022 and I had 2 bidders after me take the price from $520.00 on the 11th by the bidder I had jumped over and the 2nd bidder on the 16th of October @ 6:18:04 am PDT offered $540.00 which left me at $550.00 at the auction end. On the 25th of October 2022, I examined this coin with my Vantage 10X Loupe and describe it thusly: The Obverse has a bright luster but many light dings & scratches as is common on an MS61 gold coin. a nick above the "0" of the date, many light nicks on the neck with a light scratch starting at the left side of the neck and angling down toward 4 o'clock below the bottom of the curls, several marks at the chin below the mouth and another set in the field to the left of the mouth & chin, marks on the bridge of Liberty's nose and some between her eye & mouth, some marks below the star and just to the left of the hair below the headband, a nick below the star above her hair bun, a mark between the 2 stars just to the right of her hair bun, some nicks in the field between the 2nd & 3rd stars up to the right of the date and the curl on the back of Liberty's neck. The Reverse has marks above the "ED" of "FIVE D" and more above the "FI", many marks between the left wreath and the Eagle's left wing, marks between the "S" & "O" of "STATES OF", dashes between the back of the Eagle's head & below the "IN GOD WE TRUST", the upper portion of the shield on the Eagle's chest have several dings, many marks to the right of the right-wing and above the arrowheads, some marks between the "D" of the denomination & the 2nd "A" of "AMERICA". This is a nice bright coin. This coin is held in a ANACS Generation 6 holder used from about 1999 to January or February of 2006 and includes the change in that generation of serial numbers moving up from 6 digits to 7. .
