Got at a coin show around 2001, originally certified by Accugrade. I cracked it out and had it regraded raw with PCGS, and was pleased that it returned still MS65. This coin was minted in the year that saw the end of World War II, a turbulent year that brought the end of the horrors of the Nazi regime, but also brought what hopefully will never be repeated--the use of nuclear weapons.

The 1945-S is the second most common San Francisco Mint Walker, after the 1946-S. While the strike is not usually as sharp as you will see on the Philadelphia and Denver Mint coins, the strike on the typical 1945-S is much stronger than is found on the 1940 thru 1944 San Francisco issues. The 1945-S can be found either toned or with frosty luster, though the luster tends to be a little more satiny than on the D-Mints.
