1948-S 1C, RD MS65RD Certification #25163406, PCGS #2767
Owner's Comments
This coin is definitely an anomaly in this inventory. It's 75 years 'young' and the only coin from the 20th or 21st century in this entire collection. After this coin, the most recent date in this inventory goes all the way back to 1857. Beyond that, numerous coins in this set are from the early 1800's along with multiple coins from the late 1700's. And in a quixotic twist this 1948 'young' coin in MS65 Grade is also the highest graded coin in my entire collection! So while a 1948 Penny is not rare in the numismatist world, its a Unicorn in this registry!
