Owner's Comments
Representative Government and Religious Liberty. In Baker v. Carr (1962), the Supreme Court held that federal courts may review legislative apportionment, opening the door to the principle of "one person, one vote." In Engel v. Vitale, the Court held that state-sponsored mandatory prayer in public schools violated the Establishment Clause, reaffirming governmental neutrality toward religion.
