The 1969-D Lincoln cent is very under appreciated. In grades of MS66 they are very difficult to come by, just like many other 1960's Lincoln cents from the Denver Mint. Most MS66 examples are of low quality.
Most coins are plagued with carbon spots and many others have planchet flaws, which include incorrect preparing of the planchets, giving them an uneven lustrous appearance. The planchets were mishandled and most have nicks and scratches. High end MS66's are unheard of and in MS67 grade, they are extremely scarce.
