1976-D $1 Type 1 MS66 Certification #25786993, PCGS #7420
Owner's Comments
The Type I Ike Dollar was made with bold, block lettering on the reverse. The variety is less commonly encountered in high grades. This example is nice, with good luster, sharp detail and no distracting marks.

In 1976, the U.S. Mint at Denver produced Eisenhower Dollars with two different reverses. Type 1 has thicker letters while Type 2 has thinner letters. Both types are very common, but the Type 1 is not as common as the Type 2. Superb (MS67) examples of both types are elusive.
