The 1987 Uncirculated Silver eagle proved to be very popular and from 1986 to 2007, it held the record for the highest mintage Uncirculated Silver Eagle. For the most part, most Uncriculated Silver Eagles from 1986 to 2007 seemed to have mintages ranging from about 4 million to just under 11 million but 1987 was the only year that the mintage actually surpassed 11 million.
Therefore, the 1987 Uncirculated Silver Eagle is one of the more common dates in the series. Most examples grade from MS66 to MS68. Nicer examples grade MS67 but very have been graded MS70.
