This was a high mintage compared to Proof Lincoln cents struck after 1992. The 1992-S Proof Lincoln cent mintage was over 4 million and from 1993 to date the total production figures have been significantly less than 4 million.

This is the last year in which the Mint used the Wide AM reverse design on the word AMERICA, as in 1993 they transitioned over to the new 1993 Close AM reverse on Proof Lincoln cents.
