The 2003 Jefferson Nickels were officially released by the U.S. Mint on November 07, 2003. The coins were offered in 2 roll coin sets, with each of the rolls containing 40 nickels each from the year 2003. Each roll contained 40 nickels struck at the Philadelphia Mint and 40 nickels struck at Denver Mint. The two roll coin sets had an issue price of $8.95 if purchased from the U.S. Mint. The Mint also offered the coins in 1,000 coin bags. The bags had an issue price of $79.95 each if purchased directly from the U.S. Mint.
