The 2007 $50 Proof Gold Buffalo was offered by the U.S. Mint for the second year in a row. Coins this year were less popular than in 2006 as the mintages dramatically decreased this year compared to 2006 mintages. The 2007 Proof Buffalo had a mintage of 59,000 while the 2006  Proof Gold Buffalo had a mintage of 246,500.

This was more than lilkely do to the anticipation of the new design introduced in 2006 and by 2007, the demand dropped off significantly.

Sale Date: The 2007 Proof Gold Buffalos first went on sale on May 23, 2007, directly from the U.S. Mint.

Issue Price: The issue price atthe U.S. Mint was originally set at $825.95 each with a limit of 100 coins per household but later in the year these limits were removed.
