Since the inception of the Silver eagle program which started in 1986, January of 2010 is by far the highest month in sales of the uncirculated Silver eagles. By January 22nd, the U.S. Mint had sold over three million 2010 Uncirculated Silver Eagles to its authorized purchasers.The second highest recorded sales figure was in January of 2008, when the U.S. Mint sold over two million 2008 Uncirculated Silver eagles.
