2012 $1 Silver Eagle First Strike MS70 Certification #24411530, PCGS #509771

Seller states: "2012 SILVER EAGLE FIRST STRIKE PCGS MS 70 FLAG LABEL." This was a Buy it Now auction that had been listed for some time. I determined that it was difficult to find a 2012 Silver Eagle graded MS70 by PCGS & in a Flag First strike holder that did not also list San Francisco or West Point as the mint it was minted at. I did not want that on the label as I already had the red bar for San Francisco & Blue bar for West Point labels to distinguish them. I examined this coin on the 1st. of November 2022 and using my Vantage 10X Loupe, I describe it thusly. The Obverse has a small bronze toning spot in the wide band of Liberty's gown above the "WA" initials, a toning spot @ 2:30 O clock & a bright spot @ 10:00 O clock of the Sun, a light toning spot just past the "I" of "LIBERTY", a light tick on Liberty's left Breast, a toning spot just past the "T" of "LIBERTY". The Reverse has some marking on the rim edge below the "ER~O" of "SILVER ~ ONE", a toning spot just before & on the "1" & another just before the "N" of "UNITED", alight spot on the "I" of "UNITED", a light spot between the 1st. "S" & "T" of "STATES", a spot on the rim above the 2nd "S" of "STATES", a mark on the right bottom of the 2nd "A" of "AMERICA", a light toning spot on the "R" of "DOLLAR".

The 2012 Uncirculated Silver Eagles were first offered to the Mint's Authorized Distributors on January 03, 2012. The Mint sold each Silver Eagle to its Authorized Purchasers at a $2 premium over the spot price of silver. In the first day of sales, the Mint Authorized Dealers purchased 3,197,000 individual coins, however, this figure also included some left over 2011 dated Silver Eagles that were left over from the previous year.
