The One Ounce $50 2014-W Proof Gold Eagle originally went on sale on April 03, 2014 directly on the U.S. Mint website. That same day, the U.S. Mint also offered the $25 1/2 ounce, $10 1/4 ounce and $5 1/10 ounce Proof Gold Eagles. Additionally, it also offered the coins as a 4 piece proof set. Pricing for the coins fluctuated depending on the spot price of gold and the U.S. Mint would then add a premium over the spot price of gold. Most One Ounce $50 2014-W Proof Eagles were struck in great quality, ranging from about PR68-70 condition. So collectors should not have trouble finding a nice example.
