In 2017, the U.S. Mint struck four different denominations for the Proof Gold Eagles series. It struck a $5, $10, $25 and $50 Proof Gold Eagle.

The Proof $5 2017-W Tenth Ounce Gold Eagle was well struck overall. Examples in PR68-PR70 Deep Cameo appear to be the norm. The mintage was relatively high, making it affordable for most gold eagle collectors. As the price of the coin is usually at a slight premium over the spot price of gold.
