About This Set:
It is a reasonably simple set of a comfortable length, containing no elusive coins typical for the British West Africa coinage. Well, just one semi-key date entry (1951), yet fairly affordable ($200-$400 for BU). The set spans across turbulent time of 1937-1952, which can be evidenced by a switch from copper-nickel alloy to bronze (red brass) in 1952 due to the shortage of nickel across the Empire caused by Korean War. A less obvious (if at all) change in composition was the reduction of Nickel fraction in alloy from 25% to 20% in pennies minted from 1942 to 1946.
