Burns Collection

About This Set: This collection is the product of a long search for only the very best coins available. It is an enjoyable set as there are no easy coins, yet no killers either.

I have yet to improve on a decent but unremarkable 1908. This this should resolve itself as there are better coins out there; I just need them to come out of the woodwork.

I finally took the plunge and in October 2026 I purchased a 1919 in MS64, despite my misgivings about its scarcity being overblown. It seems to be even more common than some of the other dates in this series. In fact, it comes up so often at auction I daresay it could be considered a "money" coin. But it has somehow acquired a reputation for being rarer and more valuable than the others, in much the same way as Fonzie gained a reputation as a tough guy when he beat up some pipsqueak long ago. That being said, I am happy to have upgraded it by a single grade point, so I can now focus my yearning on the 1908.
