The D.T. Cabinet - Capped Bust Quarters 1815 - 1838 Coin Album
After a nine-year hiatus on quarters, the Mint finally dropped this beauty in 1815. This example proves you don’t need an MS-65 to have incredible eye appeal. The deep, rich patina framing the remaining details gives Lady Liberty a dramatic silhouette. An honest survivor of the War of 1812 era that has stood the test of time!
This quarter has been out in the world surviving for well over two centuries, and honestly? It’s aged better than most of us. Despite a hefty mintage of over 360,000, finding one today that retains this kind of smooth, matched, problem-free circulation skin is surprisingly tough. A gorgeous workhorse of early American commerce.
Don't let the 'G06' on the label fool you; this is a stealth rarity. With fewer than 1,000 estimated survivors left across all grades, seeing this coin is a statistical anomaly. The details are worn smooth by history, but the "Small 9" remains clear and proud. It's a low-grade, high-character ghost.

A very nice VG08! While it's not the rarest date in this quarter lineup, it makes up for it in pure classic appeal. It’s a highly collectable, universally loved early type coin. The "Large 0" variety stands out beautifully, offering just enough extra design detail to make you appreciate the craftsmanship of the early U.S. Mint.

Welcome to Rarity-4 territory. PCGS Numismatic Rarity estimates that only 500 to 1,000 of these have survived the melting pots and pockets of time. It’s got that beautiful, deep gray crust that Bust material collectors lose their minds over. This G06 didn't just survive; it did so with absolute style!

It might say AG-3 on the plastic, but this coin screams history. A scarce R-3 variety with roughly 1,000 survivors left on the planet. It’s got the perfect "pocket piece" charm—smoothly worn from centuries of changing hands, yet entirely honest and completely original. Not the prettiest quarter out there, but certainly one with a ton of soul & just the right dash of panache!

The Holy Grail. Beyond rare, this 1823/2 Capped Bust Quarter is an astronomical R-8.8 rarity with a microscopic ~ 31 known survivors. To top it off, this example boasts legendary pedigree, tracing its lineage back to the elite collection of the late American composer, Jerome D. Kern. This isn't just a coin; it’s a numismatic high like none other. I am incredibly honored and humbled to be the current custodian of this beyond amazing coin. PCGS POP #2

Think the 1823/2 Holy Grail quarter is the only overdate star attraction? Think again. The 1824/2 is a genuine numismatic elite, with fewer than 450 survivors estimated to exist. Coming in at a solid, crusty VG08, the overdate is unmistakable. It's the perfect lieutenant to accompany the 1823/2 in this line.

Holy overdate, Batman! This isn't just an overdate—it’s a triple overdate chaos piece. The Mint die-sinkers were clearly having a wild day when they punched a 5 over a 4 over a 2. Only about 1,500 to 3,000 examples exist across all grades for this Browning-2 variety. It’s got the ultimate "pizzaz" factor for die-marriage nerds.

This crisp VG-10 1828 is an absolute looker. The PCGS TrueView photography perfectly captures its deep, uniform, old-school look. With a mintage of 102,000 and less than 2,000 survivors, this stately looking coin is a must have for any serious quarter collector!

1831 in straight grade G4. I like the overall look of this coin, its a working mans coin!

Not a rare coin, but also not so easy to find in VF35 grade. Delighted to have this one in my collection!

This 1833 quarter in XF45 is an absolute beauty! The 1833 mintage was only 156,000 (the lowest in the reduced size 1831 - 1838 quarters), making it a somewhat scarce but not super rare coin. Survivor estimates about 1,775. PCGS Pop #37. Pop Higher - only #133.
A solid looking 1837 quarter in VF25 grade. With a modest mintage of 252,400 and a PCGS survivor estimate of 2,400, this coin is accessible but definitely harder to find in higher grades. Both the trouble free obverse & reverse on this coin indicate this coin is at the upper range of the VF25 grade.
In 1838, the Philadelphia Mint produced two entirely different quarter designs: the final year of the classic Capped Bust and the debut of the new Seated Liberty design. The 1838 Bust Quarter is a readily accessible coin for collectors, but in VG10 grade its a beautiful example of a mid-grade coin that is easy on the eyes & a welcome addition to any registry. PCGS Pop in VG10 grade is #7.
