1913 5C Type One PR67 PCGS Secure. CAC. From a technical standpoint, this immaculate Type One proof is all that could be desired -- sharply struck with impeccable surfaces and textbook matte finish that attracts specialists of the series to the 1913 Type One design. Pale-gold color surrounds ice-blue centers, with lilac accents for outstanding eye appeal. CAC endorsement recognizes the high quality of this Superb Gem.
1913 5C Type Two PR67 PCGS. Type Two proofs from this first year of issue were struck to the extent of 1,514 coins. The surfaces of this Superb Gem representative show golden patina at first glance, but iridescent accents appear when the coin is rotated, including peach-orange, rose, sky-blue, and mint green. Finely textured fields and a full strike are expected but no less appealing.
1914 5C PR67 PCGS. The 1914 nickel had one of the higher mintage figures of the 1913 to 1916 proof production run (still only 1,275 pieces), and it is proportionately available for type purposes. This coin displays full design definition on both sides, with seemingly flawless surfaces and rich, satiny luster. Blended pastel hues of rainbow toning only increase the immense visual appeal.

1916 5C PR67 PCGS This richly toned specimen exhibits intermingled highlights of powder blue and reddish-gold on mauve-gray patina. Fully struck, as befits a Proof, with a smooth satin texture. This is the Larry H. Miller coin sold by Stack's Bowers auctions in November 2020. It was under graded as a proof 65 in that sale and subsequently regraded as a proof 67. I purchased it from U.S. Coins and Jewelry in March 2021.

This is essentially a flawless coin. Each side displays multicolored streaks of toning with no loss of the underlying brightness from the mirrored fields. Carbon-free surfaces.
Really nice white satin surfaces with almost no marks. Looks much nicer in person than my images.
Nice high grade 17-D type one quarter. In person the coin has much better luster, my images look darker than the actual coin does. One of the first coins that I purchased with a CAC sticker.
