The complete set of the Pillar Dollars of Ferdinand VI contains numerous overdate varieties, indicating the economy of the Mexico City Mint as it used and reused dies for as long as they were serviceable. Two of the transitional types in 1754 are quite scarce, but the remainder of the date/assayer combinations can be found quite easily. This is perhaps one of the most historic of all sets and the "global" appearance of the coins themselves is quite appealing.
