Ex-Buddy Byers

1857-S 50C AU53 PCGS #6292

Ex-Reed Hawn sale in August 1973 where it was catalogged as a Gem BU. Ex-Stacks auction in Jan 1981 where it was catalogged as Ch BU. Ex-Frog Run collection in 2005 where it was slabbed AU58 by NGC. Ex-Brooklyn sale in 2007 as PCGS AU53. Talk about grde De-flation! This is one of four 57-S seated halves in my collection all of which grade AU53 or higher and they constitute a complete die marriage set for this date and mint mark.

1806 50C Knob 6, Small Stars F12 PCGS #6075

O-107 is what this was labeled as from Dick Osburn but I think it is really only O-106.

1806 50C Knob 6, Large Stars VF20 PCGS #6074

O-101 I beleive this is really O-101 6 over 5 not the O-105. I think that pcgs labels a lot of O-101,102,103,104 as their Knob 6 Large Stars for O-105 but I don't think they get it right often. Take a look at the picture and tell me what you think. As a side note there are two cuds on the obverse, one over the E and one between the R and the T. They are not super clear in the picture but they are very clear in person. I would be interested to hear from any other collectors that have an example with similar cuds.

1806 50C Pointed 6, No Stem VF30 PCGS #6073

Rotated Reverse Counterclockwise 45 degrees, nice original tone full meaty hair detail and all letters clear and visible. O-109

1806/5 50C Large Stars F12 PCGS #6077

O-103 Old Green Holder, Super Original PQ+

1807 50C Draped Bust G6 PCGS #6079

Fantastic Electric Blue and Neon Purple toning around a rich golden tone on both the obverse and revers, a 10+ for eye appeal, better detail than you would think for a G06. O-105a I believe, but for sure O-105.

1826 50C VF20 PCGS #6143

Only vf20 but the eye appeal is a 10+

1830 50C Small 0 VF35 PCGS #6156

Fantastic Rainbow Toning around the Obverse and Reverse, 10+ for eye appeal. I could not get the picture to pick up the rainbow toned rims, so the coin should be seen in person

1844 $1 XF45 PCGS #6930

This coin is an upgrade from my original VF25. I had looked for this date in a pcgs holder for a long, long, time! Then when I finally got a nice VF25 along comes an even better XF45 within a few weeks, crazy coin luck. It was described from JJ Teaparty as - PQ. Looks AU. The perfect, original piece with no surface or rim problems. Toned in steel gray hues over boldly defined devices. Scarce.

1864 $1 VF35 PCGS #6954

This is actually a down grade from an AU50 coin that was in my collection. This coin was in an ANACS XF40 holder and I had it crossed to PCGS. The original tone is just fantastic, I enjoyed the eye appeal more on this coin than the AU50 so I down graded to please my eye regardless of grade number.

1865 $1 AU55 PCGS #6955

Without a doubt my best coin! This is the corner stone of my collection. Fantastic blue and purple toning around the periphery. Great even tone throughout, total premium quality, not just a dipped up xf. This was from David Lawrence (4****) from the Tarheel Collection if I remember correctly.
