The 1809 Mint Set witnessed the continuing adoption of John Reich's Capped Bust design (which had appeared two years earlier on the Half Dollar and a year earlier on the Cent) to the Half Cent and the Dime. Due to the intermittent mintage of several denominations in the early years, it would be some years before that design would appear on the Half Dime (1829) and Quarter (1815). Both the Cent and the Dime for 1809 are slightly better dates. They are by no means rare, but do bring a premium over the most common dates for their respective types.

Notes: This set has bonuses. Please see the Set Composition for a listing.
