About This Set:
IN 1892 THERE WAS A CHANGE IN COIN DESIGN. THE REVERSE ON THE QUARTERS AT ALL MINTS HAD THE STAR ABOVE THE EAGLES HEAD POINTING UP TOWARD THE SKY. APPARENTLY, THERE WAS A STACKING PROBLEM WITH THE QUARTERS AND THE PILES WOULD FALL OVER. THE MINT SOLVED THE PROBLEM BY MODIFYING THE REVERSE DESIGN. THE **STAR ABOVE THE EAGLES HEAD WAS MADE TO POINT DOWN, AND THE LEFT WING AS YOU LOOK AT THE COIN WAS MOVED FROM PARTIALLY COVERING THE E IN UNITED COVERING THE E ALMOST COMPLETELY. IT IS REALLY DISTURBING THAT PCGS, NGC, AND REDBOOK IGNORE THIS OBVIOUS TYPE.
I WILL CREATE A SECOND SET WITH THE TYPE 2 REVERSES. THIS PHENOMENON ONLY OCCURS WITH THE 1892 BARBER QUARTERS
