The 1898 Mint Set continued the pattern set earlier in the decade with an Indian Cent and Liberty Nickel struck in Philadelphia, Barber Silver and a Morgan Dollar struck in Philadelphia, New Orleans and San Francisco. None are particularly rare, but as always, the higher grade Barber issues will be the most challenging. Adding the gold does not complicate things excessively, but most any Liberty gold above MS64 will prove elusive. As of this writing, the 1898-P $20 will prove impossible above that grade.
