The 1907 Mint Set is fairly typical of the period, with the Cent and Nickel coined only in Philadelphia, and the silver coins struck at the four active mints; Denver, San Francisco, New Orleans and Philadelphia. While nearly all the issues are either common, or only slightly better dates, the 1907-S Half is quite tough in higher MS grades. Adding in the gold, turns what is a relatively ordinary set into a major showpiece as both the Indian Eagle and St. Gauden's $20 made their appearance this year. Their initial incarnations were considerably different than those struck later that year and in ensuing years. The "Rolled Edge" and "WIre Edge" Indian Eagles and the "High Relief" St. Gaudens Double Eagle are some of the standout gold rarities of the 20th century, and make he 1907 "With Gold" Mint set one of the most challenging Mint Sets in the Registry.
