Despite being 15 years into the 20th century, the silver portion of this set still retained a late 19th century appearance as it featured the three Barber designs which dated back to 1892. The Philadelphia Mint struck very few Halves this year, resulting in this issue being the key to the set. 1915 would also be the last year that all four gold denominations would be struck and while the 1915-S Half Eagle and Eagle are readily available in lower grades, they are both condition rarities, with soaring prices in the higher Mint State grades.
