The 1929 Mint Set would be the last "full" set for a while, as the Great Depression would soon take its toll on new coinage production. It would not be until 1934 that all circulating denominations would again be produced in a single year. The addition of gold to the 1929 Mint Set adds three coins, two of which are extremely rare issues. The 1929 Half Eagle and Double Eagle are both very tough, not by virtue of their original mintage, which was more than adequate, but the fact that most were unreleased and later melted at the mint.
