1899 Proof Set with Gold
The final Proof Set of the 1800s continued with the appearance it had since 1892, with an Indian Cent, Liberty Nickel, three Barber Silver coins and a Morgan Dollar. The Proof mintage for the silver issues this year was 846 pieces, making it a rather typical year. The Proof Gold this year is also fairly typical, which is to say, quite rare. Mintage for the Half Eagle, Eagle and Double Eagle are all under 100 pieces each, and only three PCGS certified Double Eagles have appeared at auction in the past decade.
Notes: This set has bonuses. Please see the Set Composition for a listing.
