The Proof coins for 1979 featured to very distinct "S" mintmarks. The first (Type 1) was a rather mushy, "Filled S" while the second (Type 2), was a much crisper "Clear S". The Type 2 is the scarcer of the two types. The "with Major Varieties" set for 1979 contains both types, for a total of 12 coins. The total number of perfect PR70DC sets will be fairly low, as the Type 1 Cent presently has a PCGS population of only 13 pieces.
