Fittingly, this was the first piece acquired for this set back in 2011. OGH, proof like IMO, and full of character.

Purchased pcgs58, and stayed as an album coin for years. Got a nice bump to 63 next time to grading shop. Super vibrant colors in good light with surfaces I’ll say boarder on PL.
The piece really is all that. Luster is out of this world and bands of rose, blue and gold are all there. This is the type of piece that takes your set to the next level
Obverse color is off the charts. This replaces a 65 I had in this slot previously. As a fellow collector said "how can this be seven points from perfection"

Absolutely booming luster, thought it, along with great color and eye appeal and well above average strike, might be enough to push it to 65. Alas, there is the spot above the buff and a hit not readily evident in image that held it back. Just a stunning piece for the grade - luster looks 66 all day

Truview doesn't capture this is hands down full strike. Was hoping for a + or a 62

A true WOW piece that adds a lot to the collection. Peripheral toning of orange is much more vivid than the True View reflects, the coin much brighter as well. Beautiful blue toning on the central portions of the coin. A stunningly appealing piece for a date in mint mark that is very difficult to find anything approaching Eye appeal.
A long time piece of the set, the only time I've considered upgrading is when the Angel Dee's set went for auction at Legends. It was the one piece in that auction I could afford and was a beast to boot. I recall being outbid pretty early on. The piece at hand was acquired when my primary interest was strike, but also has some wonderful color highlights as shown.

Crossed from an NGC 64, it displaces a 65. If anything Truview shortsells luster and color. Just a stunning piece and finally lays to rest the search for this date

One of those, 'how did this stay on the market as long as it did' moments that was very easy to open up wallet for. A bit of drama, I saw the piece on dealer inventory while all physical inventory was at FUN 2020, it wasn't for a couple of days until I knew for sure it wasn't already sold. Great color that is entirely up my ally for toning type, I really don't see any further upgrades to this date.
Awesome strike and die state rarely seen on this issue. Originally purchased PCGS58, made raw for an album, and resubmitted a decade later, it came back 55 this time around. A great piece regardless of current numeric grade.
Nice die state and strike on this one, and I thought the luster (not fully captured in Truview) might get it to AU. Not meant to be, as there is XF type wear and hits on the piece. Still, probably the best I will be able to manage for the foreseeable future
Struck from older dies, what this one lacks in strike more than makes up in overall eye appeal. Luster you expect for the 65+ grade. Super attractive color progression of gold on periphery to powder blue, to Amber in the centers.

Extremely attractive example, with almost proof like surfaces, as the date is sometimes known for. Brilliant, piece, with some bright golden highlights along the periphery and some purpleish undertones on the devices. Deeply struck and better than average for the day. No distracting marks of note, a candidate for reconsideration in the future.

Really stunning contrasts of violet, aqua blue to sunset orange. Booming luster one would expect for a 66+

Purchased raw at the spring 2010 Baltimore show. Resided in my 7070 until 2022 as I transition the album coins to registry format.
Purchased ICG58 and continues a good streak of getting ICG coins to cross or regrade at same grade as purchased.
Surprisingly difficult to find this relatively common date. Amazing purple and green, pastel electric undertones across both sides of the coin.
Absolutely love the transition of the onverse toning from electric blue to red to sunset orange. This coin replaces a 66 with less vivid toning. Super nice for the grade, piece is right at home with 66 and 67 in the set

Purchased PCGS45 and made raw for my album set. Nice looking original piece.
Purchased NGC58 back in 2009. Resided in my 7070 for a number of years, PCGS also saw it as a 58. Rare color for the series. A real WOW coin.
Purchased as a PCGS61 back in the days when I was attending the Annandale Coin Show.
A raw purchase from eBay that worked out well. It was part of a full SLQ album set, but a bit too nice for a set that at the time as XF/au. Had it graded when I found a piece that was a better fit for album set
Great eye appeal. Golden toned obverse with some additional color on the rims. Reverse is mostly white with insane luster and cartwheel with the slightest golden tint along the periphery. Essentially mark free surfaces with exception of what appears to be a die crack on liberty’s head.
It was hard to get excited about adding a certified example of pocket change. Choose my current home state and lucked out to find a piece on this price point that already had a Truview
Really pretty arch of color and otherwise everything I would hope for at assigned grade.

purchased NGC64, resided in 7070 album for a number of years before being graded by PCGS. Obverse has much richer and even orange coloration than Truview shows

Cherrypicked from a Heritage auction. At least one other bidder chased this up 3X non variety price, but still a huge upside and a POP 1 as of June 2024. The TV was taken in during a period where PCGS seems to have been having issues with their images. In this instance, the coin does have an overall goldish tint, but the contrasting coloration on the highpoints is more of a violet, which doesn't really pickup in TV. The coin also has a much more vibrant luster that pictured.

Purchased unattributed in an NGC holder as a 64, PCGS saw it as a 63 when I sent as a cross over with a minimum grade of 63. Truth be told I thought 63 was the accurate grade as the luster is a bit toned over, and in the end would done just as well financially to have just found one already graded, as the piece had competition in auction from at least one other bidder who knew that it was. But we all know these don't come around everyday, and there is the thrill of the hunt. The coin is well struck, amazingly mark free for grade and are the factors that most likely lead NGC to give it a 64.
Purchased at a Baltimore Coin Show as an ANACS50, PCGS saw it as slightly better. It was only after I posted the image on the CU boards that a fellow board member alerted me to the MPD variety. Was able to have it attributed in same trip to grading shop.

I sent the coin to CACG where it straight graded with attribution but as a 55. In the end I really wanted a PCGS attribution for my two feather set, so I sent the CACG graded coin for a cross. I have finally, at great cost of money, time, and frustration, achieved my goal of getting this coin into an attributed holder.
