Fortunately, the number of major varieties in the New Orleans gold set is small, making it easy to make the leap from the Basic set to the With Varieties set. The 1843-O Quarter Eagles are known with Small and Large Dates. In 1843, the Half Eagles are found with Large vs. Small Letters in the reverse legends. Finally, the 1854-O Eagles are found with Small and Large Dates. None of these varieties is particularly rare or expensive, so you’ll have a lot of fun hunting them down and adding them to your collection of "O"-Mint gold.
