In 1821, it was the humble Cent that came up short in the mintage department. While 389,000 were struck, which for most series would be plenty, it was only about 10% of normal for the period. As a consequence, the Cent this year will prove fairly elusive in high grade. While lower and middle circulated can be found, Mint State pieces are uncommon, and typically command low to mid five-figure prices.
