A pleasing piece to admire, both sides are peripherally toned in powder blue and pinkish-rose iridescence, the latter color encroaching on centers that struggle to maintain faint traces of brilliance. Most features are sharply struck, and none are less than bold, with plenty of frosty luster retained in the absence of all but light friction from commercial use. This readily obtainable die marriage of the 1836 Capped Bust quarter is a popular type candidate from the Reduced Diameter portion of the series. It features the only use of the obverse die and a reverse that also appears in the 1836 B-4 pairing. Steve M.
