At first glance, this coin appears to look like a Proof. This coin is both pure SUPER HIGH END end quality and is super flashy!
Magnificent mirrors beam as boldly as possible from all over. There are some light Mint Made striations and some light clash marks which totally prove this coin is MS and not a Proof. Overall, the coin is amazingly clean. The mirrors are also super clear. Add a booming luster that beams from all over and you have real flash. There is a touch of moderate reddish gold/blue by the peripheries. The details are actually needle sharp in strike. The details are also thickly frosted. Yes, there is contrast here. The eye appeal is incredible!
PCGS 23, NGC 13, CAC 11 (obviously resubs). PCGS has only graded 3 in MS66+. This coin was last sold via auction for $7,931 in May 2022. The current Collectors Universe value is $9,000. Keep in mind, this coin is closer to MS67 than an MS66! A great Civil War era coin to add to any GEM collection!
