| Scotsman | Auction | The Midwest Summer Sale 2021 | Jul-2021 | 48 graded MS-64 BN, 20 higher at PCGS. Prized in all grades, the 1877 Indian cent proves to be a condition rarity in all mint-state grades, especially with regard to how popular the series remains with collectors. Precise details lead off a list of fine attributes, with the strike just missing all four diamonds and perhaps the ends of a couple of feathers on the obverse. The reverse strike seems almost ideally realized, and gorgeous brown color flatters both sides, comprised of copper-brown and some unexpected remnants of brick-orange. A brief series of inconsequential nicks rests to the left of "OF" on the obverse, while the reverse has basically escaped contact. |
