Stack's Bowers Auction August 2021 ANA U.S. Coins Auction Aug-2021 1902 Liberty Head Nickel. MS-67 (PCGS). CAC. Approaching perfection, this satiny and serene piece is further enhanced by blushes of light golden-apricot iridescence. Fully struck, which is also a praiseworthy - and uncommon - attribute in a circulation strike Liberty Head nickel. Although this is a plentiful issue for the type with a generous mintage of 31,487,561 coins, the vast majority of 1902 nickels in numismatic hands are well worn. Even so, Mint State survivors of marginal quality are plentiful enough to satisfy less discerning collectors, although rare are the coins that are as expertly produced and preserved as the present example. Beautiful! Provenance: From the Silver Springs Collection. PCGS Population: 8; with a single MS-67+ finer. CAC Population: 4; 0. PCGS# 3863. NGC ID: 277D.
