1908-S Indian Half Eagle. MS-61 (NGC).
An attractive, crisply impressed example displaying light golden-wheat color. As the first San Francisco Mint issue in the Indian half eagle series, the 1908-S was saved in significant numbers with the result that Mint State survivors are more available than the mintage of 82,000 pieces might imply. Such coins are still scarce in an absolute sense, however, and this MS-61 is sure to attract strong bids from gold enthusiasts.
