This is a beautifully toned Peace dollar, a top notch example that we have had the pleasure of offering before. Anyone who collects toned silver dollars knows that attractively toned Peace dollars are much rarer than Morgan dollars, this is especially true if you demand coins with CAC approval. The obverse is lively, with gorgeous, original, gold/golden brown/pale violet/green colors, while the reverse is a sea green/silvery mix. If you need a pretty toned Peace Dollar, look no further! The eye appeal is heart pounding! This high end coin is just a tiny tick or two from an even loftier grade, but it is the toning that sets this near-GEM apart! This coin appeared in our March 2019 Regency Auction, lot 368, where it realized $5,640 on an estimate of $3,500-$4,000. Prior to that, it realized $3,760 in our June 2015 Regency Auction, on an estimate of $750-$850.
