Stack's Bowers Auction August 2021 ANA U.S. Coins Auction Aug-2021 Monster Rainbow-Toned 1945-S Nickel PCGS MS-68 with a Pop of Just 3/0 1945-S Jefferson Nickel. MS-68 (PCGS). This vividly toned, multicolored Ultra Gem really needs to be seen to be fully appreciated. Both sides exhibit the most intense and attractive target-like toning that includes iridescent shades of reddish-gold, champagne-apricot, sea-green and cobalt blue. The toning retreats a bit in the center of the reverse, where a circular area of silvery near-brilliance is evident. A bit lightly struck in that same area, yet sharp elsewhere, lively satin luster and virtually perfect surface preservation further enhance the desirability of this breathtaking coin. A find for both toning enthusiasts and collectors of the finest quality Jefferson nickels obtainable. Provenance: From the George "Buddy" Byers Buckeye Collection.
